What is the Significance of Mahashivratri?

Astrologers think that the Moon grows ill on Chaturdashi. It loses its ability to provide energy to the planet. On Shivaratri, however, worshipping Lord Shiva fortifies the Moon. Furthermore, because it is so intimately tied to one's mood, it brings happiness, contentment, and success at work. The day is a once-a-year opportunity to find answers to all of your life's problems, including those related to academics, wellness, commerce, and employment. The greatest course of action at this time is to fast and pray for longevity and health.

Fortunately, according to our Vedas, doing Rudrabhishek Yagya Puja and chanting mantras bestow lifespan and health blessings on a person. Without a doubt, really praying can help you escape dangers in your life. Additionally, you can perform Rudrabhishek Puja at any time of the year to ensure the well-being of your family and yourself.

What is Rudrabhishek Yagya?

Rudrabhishek Yagya is a way to get the grace of Lord Shiva

Rudrabhisek Yagya is a tradition of worshipping Lord Shiva in his Rudra avatar. In the Rudrabhisek Yagya, the Shivalinga is bathed with water and other materials that are continuously poured over it while the Rudra Suktha, a Vedic mantra, is chanted as part of the adoration to Lord Shiva in his Rudra avatar. All of the Vedic literature recognizes this Yagya as one of the finest Pujas.

Every year, a large number of Indian homeowners participate in this Yagya for both material and spiritual benefits. Doing a Rudrabhisek Yagya on Mahashivratri is very auspicious.

How is Rudrabhishek Yagya Done?

The Ganesh Laxmi puja in the morning marks the beginning of the Rudrabhisek Vidhi. The 200 lines of Rudra from the Yajur Veda are chanted as part of this particular Yagya, which has the literal meaning of "Ritual bath (Abhishek) of the Siva Lingam. Shivlingas' Abhisheks are performed throughout the day using various items believed to be more precious to Shiva, such as coconut water, Ghee (clarified butter), cow's milk, curd (yogurt), rice, honey, sugar cane juice, finely ground sugar (Bhura), water, and similar items, on the Shiva Ling.  After that, the Bilva Patra and Lotus flowers are used to complete the Shivlinga's Bhavya Shringaar ritual. In the end, 108 Divya aartis are sung. With the distribution of Prasadam by Sadhakas, the Yagya procedure is complete.

If this Yagya is performed according to the rules of authentic Rudrabhisek Puja Vidhi, it turns into a ritual that glorifies the deity.
